Hey School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program Students!

Don't worry; you still have a week of winter break left! But in case you wanted to get ahead this semester, here's a mini newsletter to help you get started. I know you all missed me; don't even lie!

If you still have space in your schedule and are looking to add some courses, here are a few to choose from: The Ecological Imagination in Literature, Film, and Media (4), Principles of Literary Study: Poetry (3), Marx, Nietzsche, Freud (3)
, Historical Archaeology of Slavery
(3), and The Arts of Power: Ritual, Myth, and Propaganda from the Age of Augustus to the World of Wikileaks (3).

If you are in the Class of 2018 and are thinking about doing a senior honors thesis next year (either Departmental Honors or Interdisciplinary Honors), here is a valuable course, open to SAS juniors, to help you prepare: Introduction to the Thesis (1).

Maybe you want to attend some events in the future, like a Tea with the Dean or a winter formal. You're in luck! On Thursday, January 26 at the SASHP Main Office, there's a Tea with the Dean: Winter Break Adventures where you can hear about exciting experiences your fellow students had over break! And on Saturday, February 11 at 6:30 PM, there's the SASHP Second Annual Winter Formal: A Midwinter Night's Dream! Come celebrate under the guise of wonder at the Heldrich Hotel!

That's all for now, folks; enjoy the last of the break and stay warm!

Sincerely,
Nida Saeed
Student Director of Honors Media
