Dear School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program Students,

This is it. This is your last day of classes for the semester so now you've gotta buckle down and study. For about 3/4 of you, this is just the end of another semester. But for 1/4 of you, this is your last semester. These are the some of the last few memories you'll make at Rutgers University. I'm in the latter group.

I've never really been good at goodbyes, honestly. I'm more of a "see you later" kind of person. So, see you all later.

It was a pleasure writing for you all and sharing all of my pop culture references. I'm leaving you in good hands next year with Kim Peterman as the Newsletter Editor / Student Director of Honors Media for next year!

And for our blog, we'll have Fairooz Khondker as our Blog Editor / Assistant Director of the SAS Honors Blog!

Congratulations to both!

Now, onto some of the last events of the semester!

There's an SASHP De-Stress Night Sponsored by the Peer Mentors Program in McCormick Lounge on Tuesday, May 2 from 8:30 – 10:30 PM. Come out to relax!

The Zimmerli Museum's having a Study All Night event from Tuesday, May 2 to Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 10:00 AM (May 2) - 4:30 PM (May 3)!

For all seniors graduating (including me):

Don't forget to RSVP to the SAS Honors Program Senior Gathering and Ceremony on Wednesday, May 3 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Heldrich. Celebrate your accomplishments at Rutgers!

Don't forget to fill out the senior survey here! You may win a prize if you do!

Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye.

Sincerely,
Nida Saeed
Student Director of Honors Media

Dr. Josh Gordon, Director of NIMH Lecture: On Being a Circuit Psychiatrist

Abstract: Modern neurobiological approaches have revolutionized the study of neural circuits and their relationship to behavior. We now have the ability to identify, monitor and manipulate specific circuit elements with exquisite specificity. I will describe my laboratory’s application of circuit technologies to characterize the neural circuitry underlying psychiatrically-relevant behaviors in mouse models. I will then discuss what might be necessary in order to harness the power of these tools to develop novel therapies with the capacity to transform mental health care
