What attracted you to Rutgers University and the Honors/Scholars Program?
Rutgers is an excellent school that provides its students with a breath of opportunities in and out of the classroom as well as after graduation, including through its alumni network.

Why did you choose your major and minor?
The classes and programs were of particular interest to me, were and remain relevant to me personally, and were instrumental in giving me an academic understanding of the workings of the world that I did not understand or appreciate beforehand.

Tell us a little bit about what you're doing now. What was your first job after Rutgers? Where do you live?
After Rutgers, I graduated from Penn Law School and operate a law firm with many attorneys and practice areas, including divorce and family law, foreclosure prevention, real estate transactions and litigation, criminal defense, civil rights, and appeals. The firm is located in New Jersey, where I was born, raised, and currently reside.

What has been your greatest professional and/or personal accomplishment since you graduated Rutgers?
I am most proud of my children.

Was there a class and/or experience at Rutgers that led you to pursuing your current career?
Islamic Law & Jurisprudence, taught by the Honorable Hany A. Mawla.

What three words describe your experience at Rutgers and the Honors/Scholars Program?
Challenging. Rewarding. Fulfilling.

How has your Rutgers and Honors education benefited you in your post-Rutgers life?
Rutgers prepared me for success throughout my legal career, and it enabled me to connect with other Rutgers alums, including from the Honors Program, personally and professionally.

What advice do you have for our current SAS Honors Program students?
Foster and facilitate the relationships you make at Rutgers; they will benefit you personally and professionally more than your transcript or resume.
