Course Number: 01:090:229:H1, 1 credit, 01:090:297:01, 3 credits. (Honors Students will receive a total of 4 credits).
As part of a Spring 2018 Interdisciplinary Honors Seminar (Northern Ireland: Partition, Sectarianism and Reconciliation) 01:090:297:01, Paul Blaney will be leading 15 students on a week-long trip to Ireland. In conjunction with the New Brunswick-based Interdisciplinary Honors Seminar, students will enroll in a Spring one-credit field experience, 01:090:229. Students will travel to Ireland during Spring Break 2017. The seven-day study abroad experience is designed to bring to life the history, the conflicts, and the post-Good-Friday-Agreement reality of the province. Based in Belfast, students will visit the seat of Northern Ireland's devolved government and explore other key sites in the city. Day-trips from Belfast will take in the rugged north coast and the home of poet Seamus Heaney.
* Students must be enrolled in the SAS Honors Seminar "Northern Ireland: Partition, Sectarianism and Reconciliation" 01:090:297:01 in order to be enrolled in the one-credit field experience, 01:090:229.
