This one-credit honors course is only open to undergraduate students in the Rutgers Honors College and the SAS Honors Program who are registered for the Fall 2017 honors seminar "Anti-Apartheid and Civil Rights Movement: King and Mandela Lessons in Leadership Seminar"

The purpose of this Study Abroad Program is to conduct a series of seminars on social and economic justice while examining the strategic ways in which leaders have sought to institutionalize activism and public dissent. This program is a supportive component of the Anti-Apartheid and Civil Rights Movement: King and Mandela Lessons in Leadership Seminar. Students will transition from a challenging Fall 2017 Honors Seminar that focuses on leadership, conflict resolution, and social justice, and retrace the footsteps of many great leaders in South Africa. Honors students participating in the one-credit Study Abroad Winter Session: Social and Economic Justice in South Africa Field Experience in the winter of 2018 will be by applying to the program through Study Abroad. All applications will be reviewed by Prof. Quincy. Students that are selected will be provided with a special permission number to register for the both the fall honors seminar and the winter field experience.
