Honors Ambassadors, students with commitment and passion for the Honors Program, have volunteered their time over many years!
Honors Program Student Ambassadors are an integral part of the recruitment events of new high-achieving students and outreach initiatives for the SAS Honors Program.
Despite facing unprecedented times in recent past, many honors program students and professors have remarked that they still felt a strong sense of connection and community. Now more than ever we recognize that what makes the Honors Program special is not a place but an idea: creating space for intellectually curious students to engage with you and each other. That space remains vibrant thanks to your time and energy.
We do know that it will be critical for prospective SAS Honors Program students to have the guidance of our current student ambassadors who can help them understand and better navigate Rutgers and the SAS Honors Program.
Honors Ambassadors will participate in a variety of recruitment events in the coming months. They serve as the Honors Program's representatives to provide answers to many of the questions that new students may have about life at Rutgers and The Honors Program. They can provide answers to new students regarding scheduling, social events, sports or living on campus in general. In the past, Ambassadors have participated in hosting prospective students on Scholars Days, Open House and other recruitment events.
Ambassadors are trained early in the Spring semester for participation in the SAS Honors Program Recruitment events.
Our Application Process for 2022/23 Academic Year is now open. Would you like to be a SAS Honors Program Ambassador for Spring 2023?
We hope you will join us! Please note that any continuing ambassadors from previous years, must reapply!

Honors Ambassadors' Testimonies:
"When I was looking at colleges while in high school, I came to Scholars Day and was incredibly impressed by the student ambassadors. Now, I get to be a part of that: helping high school seniors decide where to spend the next four years by introducing them to the myriad opportunities afforded to SASHP students."
"Something I've loved about serving as a SASHP Ambassador is when some of the Ambassadors in the grades below me have come up to me and shared that I talked to them when they were potential freshmen attending Scholars' Days. It is interesting to see how it all comes full-circle!"
"I love being an honors ambassador because I love telling incoming students about how I fell in love with Rutgers, how the campus, the programs, the football, and the abounding opportunities shifted my mindset from wanting to transfer out of Rutgers to now representing our university at events such as these. "
"Being an honors ambassador for the 3rd year now, I still love meeting all of the incoming students and hopefully inspiring them as they start their college careers. The opportunity to share my knowledge and love of this university has been an amazing experience that I’m so lucky to be a part of."
"Participating in the Student Ambassador Program has allowed me to not only help incoming freshman make one of the most important decisions of their lives thus far but it has also allowed me to truly appreciate all of the opportunities I was given when I decided to become a part of the SASHP. "
