Dean Ackerman is the campus director for the SAS Honors Program on the College Avenue Campus and oversees the SASHP Honors Ambassadors program. She is a proud Rutgers honors alumna who is thrilled to be working at her alma mater. Dean Ackerman was a Douglass Scholar, earned her B.A. in Spanish with a concentration in Linguistics, and minored in Psychology. As an undergrad, she was involved with residence life, Greek life, orientation, recruitment, intramurals, and studied abroad in Spain. After realizing her involvement on campus translated to a passion for working with college students, she pursued her Ed.M. in College Student Affairs at Rutgers where she also served as a graduate assistant in New Student Orientation. Prior to joining SASHP, she advised undergrad and graduate computing students at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Dean Ackerman lives close to campus with her husband, a Rutgers alumnus, and three adorable kids. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, being outdoors, trying to learn new languages, and binge-watching TV shows. She looks forward to helping SASHP students make the most of all that Rutgers has to offer!
